Artificial Intelligence will pave the way to make everyone who uses it smarter than what a Ph.D. was 10 years ago said Mr Andreu Ibanez in his interaction with students of Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh in the inaugural session of GAMA (Global Ask Me Anything) Program. Mr Andreu who is the director for ICT Labs in Lleida science park Spain, mentor and organization administrator for Google Summer of code, President and Founder of Lleida Drone, and an Ambassador for WomenTechMakers interacted with the students and answered a conglomerate of their questions.
In this interaction, several questions were asked ranging from general curiosities about the ecosystem and Mr Andreu’s Journey in life to questions about data privacy in the rather internet-reliant world. The school plans to have bi-monthly sessions with dignitaries from across the world to answer any questions the students might have, henceforth fostering the culture of asking and curiosity.
Gurukul Global School unfolded another new Interactive initiative by introducing a new venture named ‘GAMA’ i.e- Global Ask Me Anything- an event in which the School students from class VIII to XII participated and asked questions to renowned world personality. The first Guest personality was none other than Mr. Andreu Ibanez a technologist with more than thirty-five years of immaculate experience in the I.T sector. He is the director of ICT Laboratories of the Lleida Science Park in Spain. He is also the Project administrator for Liquid Galaxy Lab, a project started by Google. He is an expert in the Google Ecosystem being a mentor, an organization administrator for Google Summer of Code. Apart from some other important posts, he is an international speaker with more than 400 talks in over 12 countries to his credit.
This venture was accepted by each and everyone who was a part of this project with open arms and this inquisitive programme had students vying to ask questions based on not only Artificial Intelligence, futuristic career options, cybercrime and many more. The questions ranged from the impact of Artificial Intelligence on world trade and economy to its impact on education. They also enquired about the possibilities of AI on their career choices and the future of technology. As an answer to one of the question, Andreu Ibanez advised the students to learn and learn new things and enjoy what you learn.
The Principal of the School Ms Nina Pandey in her welcome address highlighted the school’s initiative to take and make its students Global and well versed in the latest techniques of information technology, she told that GAMA would unfold as a wonderful platform to enhance knowledge. She said that this initiative is being initiated on an auspicious day of Guru Purnima when we bow with reverence to all the gurus in our lives.
The esteemed members of the School management Sh. Parveen Setya, President Ms Neena Setya who graced the occasion online and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the students as well as the highly motivating responses by the Guest Speaker. The efforts of the students and the staff were applauded and appreciated each one's efforts especially the great effort put in by Ms Leena Khaneja coordinator Operations who left no stone unturned to make this event successful.
